1. Keep your system free form unwanted files.
Your Windows machines create many files that are not required or all useless after some point of time. Such files take a lot of space and may give you a run for memory. You can find and clean these file in many different ways.
Hit Windows+R on your desktop and type %temp%. A folder will pop-up full of unwanted files. Delete all the files from this folder.
Now again hit Windows+R and type prefetch this time and delete all the files from the folder that opens.
2. Defrag your hard disk regularly
Your hard disk is divided into a number of sectors of fixed size. This may be considered as quantization of memory. This memory blocks suffer from fragmentation. The fragmentation can be both internal and external. This results in loss of memory space.
Defragmenting the hard disk can help to regain this lost memory. To defrag your hard disk follow the following steps:-
Open your start menu Navigate to All Programs–>Accessories–>System Tools–>Disk Defragmenter
Following window will open up, click on “defragment disk”
3. Remove Programs from Start-up
Go to Run box and type “msconfig” then navigate to Startup tab and uncheck the programs from the list that you dont require at startup. These programs might be slowing up the PC while turning ON. Remember not to uncheck the necessary startup program like your antivirus or drivers.
